Ottertail Lodge
The Lodge is located at the end of a dead-end road in a remote Northern location. A mystical place set at the edge of a hardwood forest, where you can hear coyotes and owls at night, see deer, turkey, grouse, an occasional bear and a host of small 'critters' and birds. New photos appear at the top, so if you are a first time visitor, scroll to the bottom of the May, 2005, archive and view the building process.

How big was the lake? Really big. I don't know the acreage, but will find out. We went about 30 miles one way from Souix Narrows and were not near the big expanse of water where you cannot see shore in any direction when out in the middle somewhere. That according to Greg.
How big were your boats? 16 footers?
Did you guys cook the fish or did the lodge staff?Ivan did the cooking while on the beach at the lodge. I think Butch and others did the cooking at one shore lunch out on the lake at noon one day.
Who drove the boats?Dan L., Greg B., Craig D., Butch J., Swede, Pete somebody. These boats all belonged to members of this expedition and were trailered up there.
How big were the motors? 80-110 HP
Did you see any really cool birds? There were quite a few white pelicans where we were, many cormorants and gulls. Saw some ducks near the marina, can't say about any others. Oh, yes, eagles.
