Hey! The slab's done......

Here we go!! On Thursday Ivan and Harry came over to Peg's and we all worked on getting the forms set for the new slab. This first pic is how we left it Tuesday evening. Harry is one of the guys from India that works at our office in Phillips. His name is really Muruganandan Harikrishnan (I may not have that right) and most call him Muruga. We decided that he needed a more American name while here, he agreed, so we settled on Harry, short for the second part of his name. He's a great guy, here with his wife and two kids. Here, on Wednesday, Ivan is finishing up a couple of forms for sidewalk sections in case there is any concrete left after filling the main floor area. And here are those same forms filled up. Not sure where we will use them but they are ready! After an hour or so, Ivan was ready to do the finish troweling of the floor. He looks like he's happy at his work, no?

So with Ivan and Harry doing the bulk of the work, we managed to get a very nice job done. And here is a shot of just how nice it turned out. It looks good enough to eat.. I should also give Peggy a big batch of credit for the spreading out of the load of gravel in the days before. Lots of work.... Hope to get materials so we can start on things this weekend. Yee-haaaa!!!!!!!!!
